I think everything you said makes sense, there are ebbs and flows of creativity. I have been in that place lately and what occurred to me is something I learned in grad school - just at the point where it all felt like too much and I wanted to quit, that is when I turned the corner and it all got easier. Kind of like that phrase "darkest before the dawn." Keep doing what you can each day and before you know it a new creative idea will come to you and it will be fun again.

Second kid is a lot more load added. 1+1=3. Fatherhood is extreme and trying to carve out your wants and needs are difficult. Now that my 2nd is older and more independent it’s a lot easier.

I am from Nashua. The date was actually May 4. My mom and uncle were two of the kids watching the play in the church. She always told me me me that Fr Janelle calmly walked to the front of the altar and announce that the play was ending and all kids should leave the church where there moms would be waiting out side for them. She says it was very orderly. No one yelled fire. The kids left not knowing what was going on. Meanwhile my grandfather who worked for the gas company was tasked with going into each house as the fire advanced and had to shut off the gas mains. Yes. There were a lot of strong and brave people. Remnants of the fire can still be seen.

Look into the State parks in New Hampshire. Mount Sunapee has a nice beach that we have been to. Not the ocean but an alternative. If you are set on the beach definitely look into Plum Island. There is a fee to go into the refuge and sometimes there are areas closed due to the Piping plovers nesting but its nice. Nothing like Hampton or Salisbury.

I don't see a reason not to swim. Water is ALWAYS to be approached with a keen awareness that man made and natural hazards will kill you if you're careless.

In York, short sands beach has plenty of parking and is public access. It has an old arcade, bowling, and shops.

You should look at Wallis Sands. Plenty of parking, sandy beach, not too far of a drive, nicer than Hampton.

It's crazy to me how businesses will refuse to take personal accountability for social issues THEY THEMSELVES CREATE. The idea that businesses would EVER willingly do something for regular people if they were unburdened by any sort of governmental oversight. I live in Australia, where we have a decent minimum wage. Is it good? I wouldn't go that far, but it's decent. And guess what? I can't remember the last time I tipped. It is the obligation of the government to do their fucking jobs, and put their boot on the necks of companies so they do the bare fucking minimum for their employees and customers. Companies will never go out of their way to pay minimum-wage workers decently, they have to be forced.

I would riot in the streets over this crazy tip world. Just pay your workers please….. It’s a bigger issue than just tips unfortunately. It’s the fact that laws in some states allow companies to pay service workers BELOW minimum wage. So even with tips workers can barely get over minimum wage pay. Some laws have tried to push through that employers can TAKE those tips and not be obligated to tell the consumer. AFL-CIO has some decent write ups on it and it will take a major change in labor law to change these types of practices. John Stewart had a great interview about how Walmart abuses systems like this. They pay there workers dirt, forcing a large number of their employees to seek federal aid and the taxpayer has to pickup that tab. Essentially the tax payer subsidizes their labor force so their C-class can make even more profits off the backs of the little guy.
